About Artwork: (not listed) "Rembrandt's authorship was doubted as early as the 1920s. In subject and style the painting is typical of the master's immediate circle in the 1640s; attributions to Govert Flinck and to Gerbrand van den Eeckhout, both of whom studied under Rembrandt in the 1630s, have been proposed in recent years.
