About Artwork: (ca. 1736) "Between 1736 and 1738 Trémolières painted large canvases of Comedy and Tragedy. Both belong now to the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire, Cholet. The former, for which this is probably a study, was exhibited at the Salon of 1738. A drawing for the head of Comedy is in the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm.
